SWEEPERS

Sweepers

What is a manual sweeper?

A manual sweeper is a mechanical device used to clean floors, similar to a vacuum cleaner. The main structure contains a set of rollers and gears to rotate when the device is pushed forward, which then collects dirt into an integrated container. Unlike vacuums, it does not use electricity.

Why buy a manual sweeper?

Sweepers are a better alternative to heavy/loud corded vacuums, or brooms/dustpans. Sweepers are easy to use. They are lightweight, quiet, and compact for easy storage. There are no wires, so you won't trip or have to find an outlet. Also, they work quickly to get the job done.

Carpet is typically categorized into two: short pile and long pile. Pile is a term for the fabric loops which are woven into the base – short loops for short pile and long loops for long pile. Short pile is often dense and thinner. Long pile is more common in thicker shag carpets.

How to Clean Different Flooring Surfaces in Your Home

Homes have so many different kinds of flooring surfaces, from carpet in the living room to hardwood in the kitchen, or tile in the bathroom. These surfaces all have a purpose, but come with a challenge: how do you clean it?

Each variety has its own needs, and it's important you find the right method. Let's break it down to provide you with the best options for cleaning your floors.

Hard floor

The term ‘hard floor’ encompasses a huge variety of surfaces and often describes non-carpeted flooring.

Vacuuming

To clean dry messes, such as crumbs, dirt, and pet hair, use the Chilli Tempest. It has powerful suction and is lightweight. You can also use the UV400 with the floor attachment. If you would prefer no noise, try a sweeper, like the Evolution.

Polishing and Mopping

Wood, tile, laminate, vinyl

For sticky messes and dusty floors, try the 5-in-1 Kit Spray Mop. It has a microfiber flat head to pick up small and stubborn remnants. It features a spray for soaking up spills, and a triangular piece to reach corners.

If you are looking to clean without harsh chemicals, a steam cleaner is the way to go. The Steam Dynamo and Steam Chief come equipped with an abundance of attachments to clean. Steam cleaning yields high-quality cleaning results and protects surface damage from toxic chemicals, because it relies solely on water.

If you would like to polish and buff your floors, try the EP170 or EPV1100. These machines restore floor quality for a brand new appearance. They are lightweight, yet sturdy, and equipped with a butterfly grip for more maneuverability.

The Nifftee and Electra cordless cleaners are another great option. Both are lightweight and portable with powerful rotating cleaning pads. These gentle and easy to use floor devices do the work for you.  You can use them on all hard floors, including laminate and vinyl.
